Patrick Lo, MD, MDiv, FRCP(C)
Dr. Lo provides one-time consultation in the area of mood and anxiety disorders. His time at Meadowbrook Counselling & Healthcare Associates is limited, so no follow-up can be provided. Assessments can be done in either English or Cantonese.
Dr. Lo completed medical school at Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario. He subsequently completed psychiatric training at the University of Toronto.
Though he primarily only provides consultation service at Meadowbrook Counselling & Healthcare Associates, his psychotherapeutic training informs his assessments significantly. He integrates perspectives from modalities such as psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, emotion-focused, mindfulness, and dialectical behavioral therapy.
Prior to medical training, he completed a Master of Divinity in Theology/Marriage & Family Therapy, at Tyndale Seminary. He worked as a Marriage & Family therapist for 6 years prior to Medical School.
He is a full-time staff psychiatrist at the Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences in Whitby. He works in the Mood & Anxiety Disorders clinic, the PROMPT (urgent care) clinic, as well as in the Borderline Personality Self-Regulation Clinic and other satellite clinics involving issues such as psychosis and mood/anxiety disorders.
He holds membership in the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and is licensed to practice medicine by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. He is also a Clinical Fellow of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy, and is a registered member of the Ontario Association of Marriage and Family Therapy.
